Next generation stent technologies such as the Dual Therapy Stent(DTS) , which addresses the challenges of delayed healing of the coronary artery associated with monotherapy DES, and Bioresorbable Vascular Scaffold were completly unfamiliar, with only two and four respondents respectively having heard of it. The DTS is an exciting and important one as it combines the best of two existing technologies. It reduces restenosis using DES and at the same time with Endothelial Progenitor Cell technology, allows for better vessel healing and a combination of efficacy and safety.the result is overall improved performance, explained Prof Dr Wan Azman bin Wan Ahmad, Head of Cardiology, UMMC.
On the other hand, 80 percent of respodents understood the importance of taking the two anti-platelet drugs, Aspirin and Plavix, as prescribed by their doctors, with only 83 respondents saying otherwise.
Additionally, the survey also revealed that:
66% of respondents were aware that they could suffer from stent thrombosis(heart attact) if they failed to take their two anti-platlet drugs(i.e. Aspirin and Plavix).
73% of respondents surveyed knew that stent thrombosis could be fatal.
78% of respondents were interested to find out more information about treatment methods of Coronary disease.

Last Wednesday, Advertlets team had a chance to be invited to a wine talk at La Bodega, Bangsar. Let’s just start off with some introduction. Basically, Wine Talk is a venture of Room Service Deliveries and Gastrodome Management Services, responsible for the famous restaurants La Bodega, Pressroom & Espressamente Illy. Combining their expertise in both fields, their aim is to offer more than just a wine-delivery service. With more than 400 labels to choose from the website; you can discover a new world of wines with the ‘Wine Club’ for a wine experience, unlike any other. Their tagline is “GUARANTEED SATISFACTION, GUARANTEED PRICE, DELIVERED TO YOUR HOME.”
That night, David Stephan was our speaker. He is a Sommelier & resident wine expert, studied hospitality and Sommerlerie in a professional school for 4 years from the age of 16 in France, with internships including stints in various hotels & renowned restaurants in Paris. In late 1999, a good opportunity allowed him to move to the exclusive island of St Barts, working in a 5-star resort. The island is famous for stunning beaches and also frequented by the rich and famous including ‘L’Esprit Salines’, one of the island top restaurants at that time where he managed a splendid premium wine list. He then took to Shanghai where he joined a local wine importer & distributor, selling and supplying fine wines to hotels, restaurants and private clients across the country for over 5 years. Isn’t amazing? for someone who’s truly has the passion for wines and being equipped with so much knowledge throughout the years! Well, it was greatly an honour to have met David Stephan that night and shared some wine experiences together.
Oh, that night Founder of Advertlets, Josh Lim managed to have a short interview session with David Stephan.
Q1. What does Sommelier do?
Sommelier is a wine expert. Normally in the restaurant, Sommerlier is the person who chooses the wine for your dinner. Say if you are not sure what matches for your food, Sommerlier is the who who choose the kind of wine to matches your food.
Q2. What kind of special services do you provide?
Basically, we have home delivery where we will come over your place to serve a wide range of wines that you have ordered. We have over 400 of wines, you can choose from the menu and let us know via email or phone call. We will deliver the wines at your doorstep.
Q3. What is the difference between a Srewcaps or natural cork of the same wine?
Screwcaps are actually much better for young wines, especially the whites, which interests come with their freshness and great fruitiness. Screwcaps guarantee the sealing of the wines, and lower the chance of oxidation, much more than a lower quality cork.

han the President of the United States, Barrack Obama. Ok maybe just his impersonator from Indonesia, Ilham Anas. The political icon representation was in homage to the recent independence day of the United States of America, birthplace of the original ‘Burger’ some 273 years ago. Following intense anticipation, “President Obama” arrived in true presidential style at Smashies Burger in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, complete with top-level fanfare including his official limo, bodyguards and entourage. He received his first taste of a Smashies Burger, and officiated the opening of Malaysia’s newest burger sensation to much excitement and curiosity from passers-by.
Although it draws inspiration from American influences, Smashies Burger is very much Malaysian. It was started by former investment banker, Wil Soh. He said that ” throughout my academic and professional career in the financial industry, I had the opportunity to travel to many countries around the world. While I was in the United States, I discovered that there was nothing like a good, wholesome, juicy, mouthwatering burger. During my carrer, I would reminisce being in the company of great friends, having fun over a delicious burger. That’s the experience I wanted to create with Smashies Burger, and I hope many more memories will be made here.” So, that’s how Smashies Burger is formed and now we get to taste every bite of it!

So, what was on last Saturday? It was a Carlsberg event at Luna Bar, where the Advertlets team and a few of our bloggers were invited to an exclusive event for Carlsberg’s Malaysia Trade and Media Partners. It was a great party with all the beers from the group, signature cocktails and a mix of movers and shakers in the industry as well as celebrities!
According to Datuk Lim Say Chong, the Chairman of Carlsberg Malaysia, he said that ” I am very confident Andersen can continue the strong growth and good momentum that we have established in Malaysia and Singapore over the last few years. He is one of our most experienced leaders in Asia and will help drive the strategic agenda as well as strong execution going forward, in strong cooperation with our supportive business partners and customers in Malaysia and Singapore,” Lim said.
Here’s some of pictures of what happened that night…
The band for the night performed some classic modern jazz and pop songs. The pianist is actually one of my colleagues, Daniel Wong (who plays in a band, Wanted Symphony) and yeah he can really sing! A special stage was constructed that night over the swimming pool of Luna Bar.

One of the hottest party zones in the world will be transported to Penang this coming 21 June, 2013 as Asahi Super Dry, Japan’s No.1 beer gears up for the next instalmen ]]> <![CDATA[ t of Club Asahi. Bringing the best of electronic dance music, vibe, energy and the infamous Miami heat, Club Asahi is ready to sizzle the grounds of Soju Room. With a superb run since its launch, Asahi Super Dry pole vaults even higher by introducing the second instalment of Club Asahi – Club Asahi Miami.
Miami’s hip, hot and happening social scene is known to offer unending revelry 24/7. Ticking off the best of ultra-glam, celebrity, music-infused outings; fans of Asahi Super Dry can look forward to having a firsthand experience of what it is like to get down and dirty Miami style. The transformation of Soju Room guarantees a transcendent experience that can only be reinvented by Asahi Super Dry.
Calvin Khoo, Brand Manager of Asahi Super Dry mentioned, “This indeed will be an amazing concept and enigmatic experience to be brought to Penang. Not only can clubbing fans enjoy pumping beats from Miami’s world renowned DJs, a whole new world is created from inside a club, offering them an opportunity to enjoy the diverse impressions from different parts of the world. It is also a good platform for us to get to know our fans on a more intimate level. We are looking forward to Club Asahi Miami and Asahi fans should be too.”
Headlining the second instalment of Club Asahi is Miami’s top DJs, Kryoman and DJ Hendrix. The lush melodies, pumping beats and funky tunes will be mind-blowing and promises decadent realities that induces endless possibilities. Kryoman the half man half machine as many know him to be has been blowing minds inside the electronic music underground since nearly its inception.
As ‘rave’ began to rise like a phoenix from the underground, so too did Kryoman. Year after year, the man and the machine continued to evolve in a nearly streamlined path with dance music. The robot, as he has come to be known, takes revelers to a whole new realm of reality. He is the energy and the link that ties the artist with the audience, because, when the robot engages, he is channeling both.
Joining Kryonman on stage DJ Henrix himself is a successful upcoming DJ with outrageous over the top talent, and this is what will make this second installment not one to be missed. Miami based DJ, Henrix has been on a roll lately with his single “Let’s Rave” on Mixmash, getting support from DJs far and wide including by Laidback Luke during his appearance on Pioneer DJ Sounds as well as his upcoming single with GTA & Digital lab getting preliminary support from Kaskade, Laidback Luke, Steve Angello & Tiesto. Furthermore, Henrix was featured 5 out of 6 weeks in a row on Tiesto’s Club Life Podcast (277-283)! Henrix is establishing himself as a name to be reckoned with and will most definitely be the name to watch for 2013.
The notorious Mr Nasty and Guru Guru on the other hand will represent Malaysia. Part of the Asahi Super Dry All Stars collective, this dynamic duo is amazing as entertainers, with an impeccable taste for music. Mr Nasty & GuruGuru: The infamous household names from Zouk Club KL, anchors the much hipper side of the club called Barsonic with their bi-monthly residency coined OMFG & CTRL.
They are known for their precise ability to execute 5-hour sets starting from 126bpm to 150bpm with electro to dubstep and not afraid to experiment; they always land with a dash of hardstyle to finish. They will soon be touring the whole of Malaysia under the Asahi Super Dry All Stars movement where DJ acts take over the clubs every fortnight throughout the nation.
Leading the clubbing scene into the next dimension, Club Asahi is pulling out all the stops and offering clubbers a new, unique platform to be entertained, be inspired and be in the forefront in igniting endless possibilities. Having already fronted various music festivals in the country such as Swedish House Mafia and Future Music Festival Asia, Asahi Super Dry will be continuing its involvement in more projects throughout the year as it elevates the music scene in Malaysia.
Club Asahi is scheduled to take over Soju Room, on June 21, 2013 from 9.00pm onwards. Passes to the event is by-invitation only. To obtain your passport to Miami, log on to facebook.com/AsahiMalaysia.

Just a word of knowledge for the uninformed – Bak Kut Teh is perhaps one of Malaysia’s most popular non-halal specialties and basically consists of pork ribs simmered in a complex blend of herbs and spices for hours. There are many variations of the dish – but many claim that the rights to the ‘original’ Malaysian version of Bak Kut Teh belong to Klang town. Frankly, we weren’t too concerned about where it comes from – all we needed to know was that it was lip-smacking, mouth-watering good Bak Kut Teh! Delicious thoughts had been filling our minds from the moment we knew we had been extended this invitation. Okay, so back to the review – Wing Hiong does not just serve plain Bak Kut Teh but also a variety of other dishes, which pleasantly surprised us. These dishes seemed to compliment the Bak Kut Teh very well in fact!
Delicious looking eh? As you can see, aside from the pot of Bak Kut Teh in the middle, there’s also a pot of ‘dry Bak Kut Teh’ – basically a variation of the usual soup-filled Bak Kut Teh. Other dishes include Wing Hiong’s signature steamed clams, oyster sauce tofu, braised chicken feet and a very delicious serving of sweet/sour/spicy steamed fish. The strong, herbal aroma of the Bak Kut Teh soup filled the atmosphere as the dish was brought out from the kitchen. It certainly tasted as good as it smelt – and we were digging into generous portions of pork and soup in no time! The soup was very well done and tasted every bit as good as traditional Bak Kut Teh should! The pork, meanwhile, was tender and tasty. It was simmered just about right so that it maintained its flavour and taste.
The dry Bak Kut Teh, on the other hand, was tasty as well but it was not as outstanding as it’s soupy variant.
But when we got to the fish -
WOW! The sauce sent a burst of flavours rushing through our taste buds – not only that, the fish tasted absolutely fresh! It was a unique blend of sweet, sour and spicy – definitely a must-try! As you can see, the fish was pretty much gone by the time I managed to get a good shot of it. All that’s left was the head – and even then, trust me – it was good!
Now let’s get to the clams (lala) – this is one of Wing Hiong’s signature dishes. These clams are larger than they look – They are approximately twice the size of a regular clam and the shell is thick and hard. Make no mistake – this is also one really delicious dish! There was a tinge of wine in the gravy and the clams itself were tender and juicy. Also another must-try.
Then of course there was the braised chicken feet, steamed lettuce and the oyster tofu which I didn’t manage to get a shot of – these three are simple, humble dishes but are a wonderful addition to the entire menu on display – the tofu, especially, was extremely tasty and was gobbled up within a matter of minutes! The chicken feet may not have been everyone’s cup of tea, but for me personally, it was delicious.
Lastly, here’s a group shot of the bloggers and team members who made it for the food review -
The overall verdict? Wing Hiong Bak Kut Teh definitely does not disappoint – the food is delicious and is backed up by a commitment to use only the freshest ingredients and the strictest methods of quality control. This is definitely something lacking in your regular roadside Bak Kut Teh joints. On the whole, it’s definitely worth driving down to your nearest Wing Hiong Bak Kut Teh outlet to give it a try. 4 out of 5 stars!
To spice things up even more, we’re glad to tell you that they’re running a mouth-watering promotion from now all the way til the 6th of November – so do hit this link and grab the deal!
